Digging deep and getting dirty

| May 16, 2011

If you just wanted to watch a video online, there are dozens of services that I could send you to…and none of them would be Vialogues. If, on the other hand, you wanted to get your hands a little dirty, you have come to the right place.

Vialogues lends itself perfectly to the art of analysis. You can dissect precise moments in a given scene: a phrase, a hand gesture, even an utterance (like a sigh, a cough, or a breath) is fair game for scrutiny. To understand why something occurred within the video, you can rewatch it, pose a question, and bait people with a curious/controversial/interesting statement.

To see these comments in context, head over to the vialogue: https://vialogues.com/vialogues/play/529

Scenes lasting for a few seconds can spark deep and complex conversations, extending the lesson past the original point of reference and opening the door to new learning opportunities.

Do you want to feel better? Then visit the vialogue this conversation was pulled from! https://vialogues.com/vialogues/play/530

You have probably heard me say this countless times by now but in case you are in the dark: videos can be wonderful teaching resources…. if they are used at the right time, for the right purpose, in the right way; Vialogues is one of those ways.

So, if you want to flex your analytical muscles grab your scalpel, jump into a vialogue, and commence the video dissection!
